The raw material is the wool of a variety of specific sheep, known for its small size and great durability. Creating these rugs requires exceptional craftsmanship passed down from generation to generation, as well as a great dose of patience. It takes 1 to 4 months—depending on the size of the rug—to produce each of these unique pieces. These rugs are woven in the Moroccan region of Boujad. Their palette of often bright and bold colors is derived from natural dyes extracted from local plants. To care for a Berber rug, it is advisable to vacuum regularly and gently. Ideally, opt for a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush tip. If stains occur, quickly blot with absorbent paper, using baking soda if necessary, before finishing the treatment with a vacuum.
